Our History
In 1977, eight townships in Washington County formed the Washington County Sewage Council
(or WCSC). This
council was established (according to Act
537) for the purpose of providing faster,
more knowledgeable service for the property owners in each
township. By combining their efforts, each township is
able to lower the costs required to comply with the DEP's
wastewater-related regulations.
The
success of the original council soon spread to other
townships, boroughs and municipalities in Washington
County. Currently, there are 34 municipalities that
participate in the WCSC.
