Before You Start
-
A sewage
septic repair permit is required if you alter,
repair, move or install any portion of a septic
tank, dosing tank or absorption field. Click
here
to see the law (PA Code) related to this
requirement.
What
You Can Do Without a Permit
-
You are
allowed to uncover the septic tank and the sewage
lines from the house to the septic tank and from the
sepetic tank to the absorption field without
a repair permit.
-
You are
allowed to repair or replace the sewage lines inside
the building only without a
repair permit.
When
a Repair Permit is Issued. . .
-
When a
repair permit is issued for a new system
installation, there will be 3 inspections. (See
the Inspection
Requirements page for details on these 3
inspections.) Other types of repairs might
have only 1 or 2 of these inspections, so see your SEO
for specifics on your job.
