Description
Many families encounter situations where they need to install
a temporary structure to provide personal services to a family
member due to health reasons. This situation is known as
the "granny clause" application.
There
has to be an agreement with your municipality indicating that
you will remove the temporary residence upon completion of the
personal service.
Once
you have approval from your municipality, you then follow
similar instructions (see below) to those for connecting to an
existing system.
Qualifying
Questions
You must answer "yes" to all of the following
questions in order to apply for permission to connect to an
existing system:

Are
you adding a new (temporary) structure on your property and want to
connect to an existing on-lot septic sewage system?

Is
the unit located on a lot which is the permanent residence
of the immediate family member receiving or providing
care or hardship relief herein to their immediate family
member.

Will
there be no subdivision of the lot to accommodate the
unit?
- Will
the sewage flows from the unit not exceed 400
gallons per day.
