Visual Inspections Instructions

 
STEP INSTRUCTION DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBILITY
1.

The following items are needed at the time you apply for a Visual Inspection:

  1. Directions to and map of property if available.

  2. Property Tax ID Number (optional).

  3. Driver's License Photo ID of applicant.

  4. Application fee (see the Fee Schedule for your specific fee)

  5. If you are not the property owner, we need a written and signed note from the property owner giving you permission to do a visual inspection on their property.

Bring the above items to the Washington County Sewage Council (WCSC) office and make application for the Visual Inspection.

3. A Sewage Enforcement Officer (SEO) will be assigned to your Visual Inspection application. WCSC
4. You then make an appointment with the SEO to do the Visual Inspection. Property Owner
5. The SEO will conduct the Visual Inspection and will determine if the existing on-lot sewage septic system passes or fails the inspection. SEO
6. The SEO will notify the property owner whether the system passed or failed the Visual Inspection. SEO
7. If the system passes, no further action is required by the property owner.

If the system fails, the property owner must move forward with fixing the existing malfunction
